Notes
Isaki is refreshingly outspoken, rising above the sea of heroines who do little else but stutter and say names when they're being told off. This was another drama where everyone wasn't afraid to speak their mind.
Episodes 1-4 are good, then it gets boring, then it gets too exciting by the end of 7. They give us so little lead up to the one night stand and spend the rest of the drama trying to regain footing. Suspension of belief really fell through.
No cardboards, and even the ex-girlfriend is legit. Eisuke and Mino as the supporting characters have a much more mellow and subtle understanding of the world, which is a glaring foil to the leads. Riichi is a good hero, strong, caring, utterly attractive.
A Long Vacation twin, with a little less blunt humor.
I could argue a They Did It, but it wasn't terrible enough to merit JTS. At that point, the story was going nowhere anyway.
A fabulous kiss and a bear hug that’s actually returned by the heroine! A satisfying ending, though the story had been puttering out for the last few episodes anyway.
Standard and very gray-washed. It looks like a drama from the 90s, minus the cell phones. Maybe that’s what they were going for. The last scene in the church is probably the most picturesque.
Lots of songs in English, and it suited the drama very well. I'm glad they stayed away from pop ballads in favor of acoustic, jazzy, beach-sounding stuff. I loved it.
Again, can't go wrong with the veteran actress/young, charismatic actor combo. Eri and Satoshi looked so comfortable, like they’d done tons of stuff together.
