Notes
Hands down, the funniest, most sidesplitting drama I’ve ever watched. I was HOWLING with laughter, like when I watch
Whose Line or
I Love Lucy. Just the way Hotaru would yell, "Buchou!" was hilarious. Some of my other favorites were, "Viva raincoat!" and "I don’t HAVE a blog!" There needs to be a Best Comedy award just for this drama.
Keeps you interested, but only because you’re wondering how long it’s going to take Hotaru to realize she likes Buchou instead. And you wonder for pretty much the whole series. It’s a flighty pace better suited for the manga. Live action needs more... well, action.
Not a 10 only because Hotaru is a little too silly at times. Every time she runs away from Teshima, you just want to wring her neck. And yet you want her with Buchou too. Everyone's just so damn likeable!
Companionship. In love with love. And going for your boss!!
No shark to jump.
Well, she goes back where she belongs, but there’s no fluff to be found. Just simple acceptance. "I love you too... wonder why."
Very pretty sunlight spills (especially the first kiss between Teshima and Hotaru) and night cinematography with The Porch. Set locations are a typical BOA cycle, but it changes the bars enough that you get an eyeful of fancy little boutiques.
As silly as the rest of the drama, but dynamic in a way that reminds you of old musicals.
There’s some sweetness between Haruka and Kazuki, but nothing cooking. Even though they’re a legit ship, I don’t consider them the example of what the show’s true chemistry is. That goes to Haruka and Fujiki Naohito. They're experienced enough to just let all the humor and sincerity rip. They're not overly romantic, but they have great comradic chemistry. They also hold the record for biggest age difference--13 years! I wonder if Naohito felt just a
little awkward.
