Notes
Another case of good flow. Everyone’s very straightforward, honest, and charmingly funny.
I waver on this one because Aya does spend the first few episodes just clowning around. You never know where the heck the story is going, but it’s entertaining enough to keep you watching.
Misaki is endearing, though her wackiness can get old if you’re ready for some sincerity. Supporting cast is developed nicely in that classic formula of rivals-turned-friends-after-discovering-their-reasons. And Ryo is so incredibly vanilla for most of the series that I have no judgment.
There are some surprising tearjerker moments with all the job failings, but other than that, it’s a day by day training log. They did pull out the death curveball at the end, which was fantastic, but it doesn’t define the entire series.
No shark to jump.
A happy ending on the career side for everyone, though the romance was sorely abandoned. Both SPs still left it dangling.
Standard.
Pretty woman, walking down the street, pretty woman, the kind I like to meet... That and a drums piece that seemed better suited to a military drama.
Ryo is good in the right moments, but the romance is so understated that you don’t care to look for chemistry. You just sort of sit back and enjoy the scenes when they decide to come.
