APPLE'S TIER RANKING
My systematic approach to reviewing isn't without skew. Some of my favorite dramas have mediocre/bad scores in a few categories, and some dramas I don't care for at all manage to score 8s. That's what happens when you only address the specifics. So that's why I made this, a "big picture" look at all the dramas I've reviewed, using tiers rather than ratings.
1st Tier
My favorite dramas, well worth the time to watch.
2nd Tier
Good dramas, try them on for size.
3rd Tier
Mediocre, skippable dramas.
4th Tier
Just baaaaad.

Uses every cliché in the book and still manages to be so good.

A sentimental good time.
Taiyou no Uta
Beautiful and musical.

Funny and lighthearted.
Buzzer Beat
Good old-fashioned romance.
Cat Street
Calm pacing, but watchable.
Detective Conan
Classic whodunit.
Hotaru no Hikari
Hilariously fun.
Kanojo to no Tadashii Asobikata
Likeable, and the confrontation scene is complete win.
Koishite Akuma
So bad it's good.
Koizora
Cliché, but effective.
Nobuta wo Produce
Profoundly great.
Ohitorisama
Follows the cougar romcom formula to a T, but it's not a bad thing.
Otomen
Feel-good and sincere.
Ryusei no Kizuna
A nice production.
Sekai no Chuushin de, Ai wo Sakebu
A little disrupting in storytelling, but good.
Sunadokei
Soapy, but meaningful when it counts.
Tatta Hitotsu no Koi
A very Korean J-drama.
Akai Ito
Careless and flighty.
Beautiful Life
Underwhelming, rather slow.
Brother Beat
Entertaining at first, putters out at the end.

Tolerable despite its cheesiness.
Hachimitsu & Clover
Great writing, but nothing really grips you.
Hanayome & Papa
Cute, but unremarkable.
Hana Kimi
Ridiculous and good fun, but the romance is sorely miswritten.
Hidarime Tantei Eye (SP)
Forgettable.
Oh! My Girl!!
Disappointingly vanilla.
Shokojo Seira
Corny and contrived.
Slow Dance
More like a slow crawl.
Zettai Kareshi
Nice attempt, but bland.
