second cup

As much of a playboy Han-gyul seems to be, I don't think he's really all that selfish when it comes to love. Even though Yoo-joo and Han-seong weren't together at the moment, Han-gyul did what he could to make Yoo-joo happy. Sure he gets excited and runs to her side at every whim, but I don't think he means for it to come off like he wants her as his girlfriend so much as he's honestly really happy to be with her. So I can't help but feel bad for him seeing him sitting around knowing he's just tried to put Yoo-joo and Han-seong back together.

You know, I think Eun-chan is insane. I really do. I mean, only a psycho would sit up in a car like that driving who knows how fast down a bridge with other cars driving just as fast around her. But driver's ed paranoia aside, I do think this was a rather nice moment. Han-kyul actually let loose a little, I think just the free-spirit effect Eun-chan has on practically anybody was good for him.

Lawl, this is just like Gulliver's Travels. I wonder how he didn't wake up even when the little tykes were tying him up and taking off his clothes. They should've had the kids draw on his face with markers like rainbows and stuff and then tie him to a pit over a roaring fire with them dancing around chanting to the gods or something. Just a thought. :D

Well who didn't love this scene? I think this just proves that Han-kyul already had some sort of instant attraction to Eun-chan even if he didn't realize it. I think anybody'd go gaga for YEH in a veil plus a tux. It's so adorable, but uh...let's just hope that if these two get hitched at the end of this show that they don't go the It Started With a Kiss route (if you don't know what I'm talking about youtube the wedding).

Well shucks this was definitely worth mentioning. It isn't enough for Eun-chan to have an overeating disorder, she's also got a sense of smell to rival a bloodhound. I honestly don't know why she complains about money, she could just take up a job at the airport sniffing for bombs or something. Or at least become a superhero at night saving people, I'm sure plenty of people would be glad that she saved them from the agony of smelly socks.

The best Han-gyul moment was the one where he wasn't even there. I thought it was rather sweet of him to give Eun-chan that watch and lend her a little money once he realized how much in the hole she was. Just shows what an old-fashioned guy he is deep down. Even if he does have pseudo-homosexual tendencies.

Damn. That's what I instantly thought when I saw this. Even if this was just some weird twisted way of revenge, it certainly was hot. I knew I liked Han-seong for a reason, just look how's he's passionately kissing her! But damn the producers for shooting this in the dark, I had to really lighten this up in Photoshop, and even then you can barely seem their faces. I wanna see the tongue action!! >=D

So this isn't romantic in the traditional sense, but it certainly was an 'Awwww!' moment seeing these two acting like a little couple. I think the tipper was when Han-gyul kissed Eun-chan out of excitement and her reaction was something like a second grader who just found out he's contracted the worse case of cooties. And I'd like to ask, was anybody else confused by that wind blowing sequence? I mean yea it was cute, but did it make sense to any of you to see bananas and oranges jumping out 20 feet into the air from that one woman's grocery bag? ?_?

This was also definitely worth mentioning at least once since I don't think I'll get a chance to otherwise. We see Yoon Eun-hye do some pretty crazy stuff on this show. Eating a truckload for one, but I'll discuss that later. Second is this. You really gotta hand it to YEH for having to lift so much crap on this show and I'm sure it's a safe bet that Gong Yoo ain't light as a feather. They're probably not paying YEH enough for this job, because I'm pretty sure the majority of those pinprick thin actresses out there could not do this.

O_O!!!! AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!! *runs away flailing arms* What the hell?? How is that ahjussi not flinching? Have you guys ever seen Korean ants up close? I have and they're frickin HUGE. That's just..gah! *shudders*

Overall thoughts: you guys might have noticed that I've left out a 'funniest moment' yet again in these awards. Well, for one there wasn't anything absolutely hilarious in this episode worth mentioning, and if it was funny the moment usually qualified for a different category better. And I've also been doing some thinking. Coffee Prince probably is classified as a romantic comedy by most people, but to me, I think it's just a romance drama. It's actually rather refreshing, because if a drama isn't a romantic comedy it's usually one of those sad tear jerkers. This drama is romance for romance's sake. If something funny happens it's probably due to the dynamic of the story rather than the purposeful intent to make people laugh. I think someone said it best on soompi that watching this drama is like listening to slow jazz. Just kick back and soak it in, and for that reason I also think the setting of a coffee shop is just perfect. Coffee in it's true essence is meant to be savored sip by sip getting a feel for the aroma and other flavors, I've certainly got this feeling while watching this drama. It's also the reason why I've opted to not do my usual Photoshop treatment other than the little touch-ups like I have with my other awards. Coffee Prince has the fortunate fate to be encoded by the Mickey-Baby team and they thankfully have chosen to use the h264 encoding which allows for ultra high quality with minimal space taken, so I thought I'd allow for y'all to see the hq caps in their essence for once. That's all for now, on to ep 3!
